More than 1,400 telephone numbers have been migrated to Skype for Business, and dozens of units will convert from traditional phones to the Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solution in the months ahead.
University technology leaders are increasing collaboration across Health Care Information Systems and OneIT to better serve the entire campus. The long-term vision is a fully integrated IT environment that supports the breadth of university activities and enables success in teaching, research, and healthcare.
The OneIT Leaders group met Nov. 30 to begin work on a OneIT Strategic Plan. They will work on the plan through a series of three retreats in the coming months, with the goal of having it approved by the OneIT Strategy Team in February.
The new OneIT Roadmaps are now available at https://oneit.uiowa.edu/roadmaps . Developed by the six OneIT Councils and approved by the OneIT Strategy Team, the roadmaps show current and planned IT projects happening across campus. We encourage you to take a look.
We have developed a fun, informative animation to explain the new OneIT Governance Process that we implemented this year. The OneIT End User Support project is currently planning implementations with the Colleges of Education and Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS), Graduate College, Public Policy Center, Facilities Management, and the State Hygienic Lab.
The IT Project Management Office Project became the seventh OneIT project to achieve closeout, receiving the Operations Team’s approval at its Aug. 10 meeting. The project established a formal Information Technology Project Management Office (PMO) with clearly defined standard processes, supporting the entire lifecycle for IT projects at the UI.
