August 29, 2017The IT Project Management Office Project became the seventh OneIT project to achieve closeout, receiving the Operations Team’s approval at its Aug. 10 meeting. The project established a formal Information Technology Project Management Office (PMO) with clearly defined standard processes, supporting the entire lifecycle for IT projects at the UI.

August 29, 2017The OneIT governance project became the sixth OneIT project to achieve completion, receiving approval to close out at the Aug. 10 Operations Team meeting. The project developed and implemented enhanced IT governance and prioritization to ensure that appropriate input is gathered for decisions about IT services and priorities, and to improve visibility and management of IT projects. It developed a mechanism to continuously monitor IT services, projects, budgets, and expenses, including personnel effort, and to deliver consistent reporting.

April 5, 2017In March 2017, the HPC project became the fifth OneIT project to achieve closeout. The project scope evolved, due to staffing and time constraints and opportunities to expand use of central services, to focus on deployment of a new HPC system and integration of small HPC services. The new system, Argon, launched in February 2017, enabling consolidation of 188 HPC systems from seven different units on campus.
