As the next step in developing a workforce development strategy, OneIT Leaders will evaluate the demand for various skill sets, forecasting three years out. Through a survey in early April, they will weigh in on which skills/technologies they expect to grow or decline, and which will be in a steady state of need.
Paired with the data from the recent skills inventory, the survey information will help leadership identify gaps in skills that can then be addressed through training, development, and recruitment.
The skills inventory concluded in December with 471 staff members participating—an 82.6% participation rate. The Business Intelligence Shared Service Center (BISSC) is working on dashboards for IT leaders that support both strategic and operational objectives, provide for actionable outcomes, and identify key themes and observations. A team from the MOR on-campus cohort is reviewing the data and developing recommendations for action, as well as insights related to workforce development.
