The OneIT Leaders group met Nov. 30 to begin work on a OneIT Strategic Plan. They will work on the plan through a series of three retreats in the coming months, with the goal of having it approved by the OneIT Strategy Team in February.
In creating the plan, they will be looking three years out. The broader IT community and other campus constituents will provide input into the plan. OneIT Leaders and Strategy Team members will talk with their stakeholders—faculty, staff, students, OneIT council members, and IT professionals—to capture forces and trends impacting IT.
In addition, three teams of IT leaders will gather and analyze information that will inform the plan. One team will look at technology impacts of the new UI Strategic Plan, one will do the same with collegiate/departmental strategic plans, and one will review guiding principles from the previous IT strategic plan, along with the organizational culture envisioned in OneIT future state discussions.
The planning process will be refined along the way. It is guided by a framework from MOR Associates, a firm that provides leadership training and strategic consulting. MOR consultants will facilitate the retreats, which commence in late January.
